Locations & Activities – Southland

Some of the activities in Southland region:

  • One of our favourite drives is the 45 minutes to Maple Glen Gardens, a hidden treasure in the rolling pastures of Eastern Southland. It is 25 acres of private garden, nursery, aviary and woodland in a small valley. It is open most days of the year and always offers something to surprise the senses, no matter what season of the year you visit. It is consistently rated one of the top gardens in NZ and has appeared in numerous gardening publications.
In the weekends, lunch at Le Potager (a French style restaurant) , located in the same area would top off a day to remember for a lifetime.
