About Us

Hi - we are Michael and Anne Broad, your hosts. We are born and bred Southlanders and really do like this part of New Zealand. We love it so much we raised our four children here. We look forward to helping you explore our part of the world and finding the best spots and experiences.

We have owned Beersheba since 2002. From the moment we bought the property, we have worked to create a private, serene escape from the rush of the world.

Beersheba is located on the outskirts of Invercargill surrounded by rural views and of course, the lovely gardens we have worked very hard to nurture for you to enjoy.

Over the years, we have been offering accommodation. We have met people from all corners of the Globe. We love hosting our many guests as well as see many of them return.

Before buying Beersheba, we were sheep farmers on the Southland Plains so when you come to stay with us, you really do get the New Zealand experience.

We also have two permanent guests at Beersheba named Ella and Lola, our pet chocolate Labradors. They love guests coming to stay and quickly sort out “the dog lovers” for a “belly rub”!!

Our farmlet is home to an assorted flock of crossbred sheep and our ponds host a steady stream of mallard ducks who enjoy puddling in the water or basking in the sun on the lawn.

We are passionate about meeting new people and welcoming you to our beautiful Southland.
